Fab Friday 38

Hi stampers and happy Friday!  It's time for a new challenge at Fab Friday and we have an interesting color combo for you this week!

It's a bit more subtle than some of the more recent challenges!

I tried to take my photo with some natural light in the apartment and I THINK it's a tad bit better.  There's just not very good lighting in the place at all!  There are barely any overhead lights and only one window in the main living area!  And editing software will only help so much.  I'll keep working on it and someday hopefully have my usual set up back :-)

It's a simple card but I was trying to get out the door for a four hour road trip to my mom's for a family funeral.  And sometime simple is good!  I think it works really well with the colors and stamp set!

Make sure to check out all the awesome designers at Fab Friday then play along with us!

The Best of Inentions

Hi stampers!  So, I had the best of intentions for stamping and posting this week...and then I had to schedule a trip home (well actually farther than home....to my mom's house...a four hour drive with pregnant sciatica is SUPER fun, ha) for a funeral.  Of course it will be nice to see my family and my mom and I'm sure she'll enjoy seeing my baby belly (she requires pictures...which reminds me I'm 22 weeks today so she'll have to TAKE  a picture when I get there tonight) and feeling him kick.  I do feel bad about leaving Jon all by himself after we had been living separate for about three months!  I didn't talk about it on my blog but he had been living in Chicago since January while I stayed with our house so earlier this month we are finally under the same roof :-)  But I made sure to make a big casserole last night to leave him dinner so he doesn't have to cook after work and working out....of course I'm not sure he wouldn't look for an excuse to get pizza or something fun lol!  And I may have to take my girl scout cookies with me as he said they aren't safe here hahahaha!

Anyway, I had planned on stamping all this week but that's flown out the window.  I have a few things saved up so maybe I can blog on location.  We'll see.  And if I get my rear in gear in the next few minutes I may be able to get the Fab Friday challenge done for this week. Otherwise, I'll have to sit this one out.  Anyway I have a  cute little card to share today that I made way back when and took the picture at home....so the picture looks awesome compared to the ones I've taken here.  It makes me sad, lol!  I've got to find a way to take better pictures here!!  And can't wait to have my new stamp room set up...would it be wrong if I set it up first?  I mean, the kitchen and bathroom and other "necessities" can wait right?????? :-)

So I don't usually love tangerine tango (although I tend to use it at Halloween) I do love it in the retro fresh DSP!  I'm sure this is a sketch or challenge from somewhere but now I don't remember where!  Oops!

Ok, time to try to get busy before spin class, packing, and loading the doggie up for the trip!

Happy stamping!

HSS 182

Hi stampers and happy Tuesday!  That means it's time for another challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  I'm happy to have had this challenge as it MADE me stamp the other day when I probably wouldn't have otherwise since I'm not very inspired!  Here's the fun sketch:

And of course I wanted to use SAB goodies while I still have the chance!  The doily made me think of the sun which made me think of the you make me happy stamp (which my grandparents used to sing all the time so I'll have to send this to my momma).

I do wish my picture was better as this is such a fun and happy card in real life and it looks drab and sad in the picture, boo!

I'll continue to work on the lighting!  While I do that, how about you check out all the DT samples and play along with us!

I'm back-sort-of...Mailable Monday

Hi stampers!  Greetings from my temporary home...yep, another one, lol!  My hubby and I are in a corporate apartment until we close on our house next month.  It's "fully furnished" which means it doesn't have a desk for me to stamp on (or a can opener....but that's ANOTHER story all together!!!).  I might have updated you last week that I was going to set up a stamping area on the dining table (since we weren't using it anyway...we've reverted back to coffee table eating while here for no good reason, ha) and I have.  It's no ideal but it works I guess.  It's round and it's glass which I'm having trouble with but I'm plugging away!  I had really hoped the Mr. would find a desk he wanted so I could use it before we move into the house but it was a no-go...since when is HE the picky one????  :-)

Anyway, I've managed to make 25 swaps on it last week and whip up a couple of other cards too!  I made this the other day since I REALLY need to use some of my SAB goodies!  Don't forget that next week is the LAST week to get FREE products for every $50 you spend!  I really love the offerings this year and I'm super sad to have been in this transition period and really not been able to devote much time at all to stamping and using them!

Sorry for the poor photo quality/lighting!  Like I said, the set up here isn't ideal and this was the best I could come up with.  I'll keep tinkering with it.  Sure seems odd to not see my normal background there!

It's hard to see but I did a little peircing up in the left top corner and I added a few of the gold sequins and some of the cork accents from the SAB accessory pack.

I hope you're all enjoying your SAB products and got to play with them more than I did! I'd like to try to make up for lost time but I'm going to have to travel to my mom's for a funeral this week.  Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we lost my great aunt early this morning.  She will be missed and I'm glad I was able to send her a card a few weeks ago to tell her I was thinking about her!  I'll try to stamp and post when I can!

Happy stamping!

Fab Friday 37 and It's A.....

Hi stampers, happy Friday!  Today is a VERY exciting day as we find out if Baby B is a boy or girl!

So, here's the fun sketch we have this week at Fab Friday:

And here's the card:

So, it's a boy!  Not sure what this girly girl is going to do but I'll figure it out :-)  He also wasn't very modest, ha!

It's not a very exciting card but MDS was the easiest option to create one of each so they'd be ready and all my stuff is still packed up.  Hopefully I can start creating early next week once we get settled in our temporary home...and then we'll move into the house and I'll probably take a hiatus again, ha!  I'm not doing well at the multi-tasking!

I'll do some pregnancy posts/updates some time once I get settled and organized as I've been trying to scrapbook my growing belly and this exciting time!  Overall I feel great and have been lucky to the whole time!  I have been able to continue to work out like I'm used to and teach classes although yesterday was my last day for that due to the move.   I will miss teaching, the Y and my members very much!  And I'm a bit worried what will happen to my motivation when I don't HAVE to go work out :-)  I've been able to feel kicks since around 18 weeks and a few lucky people have been able to feel them as well!  Everything looked good today and he is around the 60% percentile which makes momma happy, not to small and not too big!  Thanks to all my friends and readers who have supported us along the way with little Baby B!

Now, make sure to check out all of the other DT members creations and play along with us!  Baby Backes would love to see what you made :-)

Happy Stamping!

HSS 181

Hi stampers!  Happy Tuesday!  It's time for a new challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  This week is a fun and interesting color challenge!

They are totally not colors I would put together normally on my own but I kind of like them!  Especially after seeing what the design team did and I'm sure it will be the same when I see all of your creations too!

As my craft room is still packed up and I've been BUSY BUSY BUSY I went with MDS for this one! I hope to be back to at least a little stamping and blogging soon!

The crushed curry looks a little off but I think it's because I couldn't find a DSP pattern I liked in that color so I recolored a brown shade.  I still like it!

I'll try to have a little update on Baby Backes soon (we find out if we have a he or she on Friday!)!  And we bought a house on Saturday so that's also part of why I've been absent...house hunting takes a lot of time!  BUT, I can't wait to set up a nursery and my stamp room :-)  More updates to come!

Now check out the DT while you wait for me....and play along ;-)

Happy stamping!
